Dr. Thompson grew up in a military family and has lived in many different states and two countries. She calls northeast Nebraska home, where her parents live on an acreage in the country. She enjoyed playing violin and piano and participatiing in choir, one-acts, musicals and track. After high school, she attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Dr. Thompson worked as a board certified optician for three years in Lincoln, Nebraska before she went on to attend the Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to obtain her Doctor of Optometry degree with emphasis in ocular disease and pediatrics. During optometry school, she married her husband Scott Thompson, who is also from Nebraska and they welcomed their first child in June of 2016. After school Dr. Thompson worked as a pediatric optometrist in Oklahoma City specializing in vision therapy, strabismus and amblyopia. Dr. Thompson is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Professionals and the Nebraska Optometric Association. She is also a member of the College of Vision Development and is a provider in the InfantSEE program.
