Dr. Baldwin

Dr. Baldwin is a General Ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma, oculoplastics, and medical retina.

A native of North Dakota, Dr. Baldwin graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Biology and Chemistry from The University of Sioux Falls. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he was selected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internship at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Baldwin finished his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Baldwin has been trained to perform state-of-the-art cataract surgery utilizing the LenSx femtosecond laser which allows for optimal refractive outcomes to allow patients better vision without glasses. He has expertise in implanting the most advanced intraocular lenses including Toric and multifocal intraocular lenses. He also performs refractive surgery (PRK, LASIK) to allow for clear vision without glasses.

Dr. Baldwin specializes in the most advanced minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries available (iStent, Kahook dual blade, Xen implant), and he was the first in the state of Nebraska to perform several of these surgeries.

He provides surgical intervention for disorders of the eyelid such as blepharoplasties, ectropion, and entropion repair.

Dr. Baldwin also has extensive experience in medical retina as he trained with nationally-regarded leaders in retina research Dr. Quan Dong Nguyen and Dr. Diana Do at UNMC. He performs intravitreal injections for an array of retinal disorders, performs argon laser for retinal tears, and pan retinal photocoagulation.

Finally, he provides the full spectrum of laser surgery including: YAG capsulotomy, YAG peripheral iridotomy, and selective laser trabeculoplasty.

Dr. Baldwin is a Board Eligible Ophthalmologist, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Nebraska Academy of Ophthalmology.

He enjoys spending time with his family, being active in his local church, exercising, spending time outside hunting/fishing, and cheering on Husker sports…GO BIG RED!
